“LucyQuipment” is our mad scientist friend Jan Polewaczyk’s latest extreme machine fabrication and he’ll be displaying it proudly and headlining the fire-up your engines Cacklefests at the year's Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show, Sunday, April 30 at Half Moon Bay Airport.
“LucyQuipment” is a close cousin to the armored and much heavier “Liberty Bell” Half-track, a longtime Dream Machines Show fan favorite, birthed in the same garage laboratory located in Martinez, CA.
Lucy is a slightly modified 1941 Chevrolet Pick-up truck powered by 3 engines, two twin turbo charged/nitrous oxide injected small block Chevy engines and one ferocious 4,000 horsepower GE J85 jet engine delivering over 3,000 pounds of thrust.
In total, Lucy’s equipment provides over 6,000 horsepower and is capable of speed in excess of 300MPH, limited only by the drivers level of sanity/insanity.
Design inspiration comes from the 1960 drag racing era, love for jet engine technology, need for speed, a 99 cent Hot Wheel car and appreciation for our Military and Law Enforcement heroes.
Pilot and co-pilot are Jan Polewaczyk and Karl Schunk from Martinez CA, with Merchant Marine and Military backgrounds.
Over the decades, Jan and Karl have been involved in building and racing vehicles at a variety of circle track, road course and drag strips locations.
More recently, they enjoy sharing their extreme machines and stories with people.
